Interior Design Studio 1: Intro to Interior Design represents a beginning point for the study of interior design as a unique design discipline. It will serve as a foundation that is supportive of future investigations, both academic and professional, within interior design.
It is a course that will prepare students to approach design via creative thinking, idea generation, conceptualization, and recognition of the complex process of making a design.
Interior Design Drafting is the study of visual communication, typography, the alphabet of lines and their applications and the use and care of instruments, geometric construction, use of scale, mensuration, and dimensions. The course will help students master the skills in drawing necessary to express their schematic and technical ideas in design.
Emphasis is given to the study of the theory of projection with an analysis of the relationship between points, lines, and planes in space. The course includes exercises on surface development and graphic presentation.
Model Making course will help students learn and to build a model of a simple interior space using basic techniques and tools, shaping ideas into 3D forms. The course is designed to help all those wishing to learn more about making scale set models, from architects, interior designers, stop-motion animators, artists, or those pursuing a hobby.
